Interactive Heritage 3D
IH3D (Interactive Heritage 3D) software enables vivid visualizations of 3D models of collection items. Models can be interactive, consisting of several parts that the visitor can manipulate. The software is suitable both for physical expositions and for the websites. The presentation is possible on a wide range of devices, from mobile phones to video walls made from LCD panels. The software is developed by the CESNET Association and tested in collaboration with museum institutions.
The presentation of collection items allows visitors to view them from all sides or even look inside. Informational annotations can be attached to 3D models, containing additional text, illustrations, video records or any other multimedia content. The annotations can be attached to any points in the 3D space of the model and may have multiple language variants. Internet users need just a standard web browser. There is no need to install a special application or add-ons to your web browser.
When using IH3D software in exhibitions, its presentation panel or a booth can be connected to the Internet for remote management and content updates. The visualization includes automatic suggestions for further interactions and the possibility of collecting anonymous usage statistics. Collection items can be displayed in surrounding 3D scenes and can create a story that the visitor goes through. An optional educational quiz can be connected to the scenes of the story.
The IH3D software supports all standard 3D model formats and it can be operated both on the institution's web server or hosted on a secure server in the cloud environment of the CESNET Association. Visualizations can be easily exported to the eSbírky and Europeana portals or to other collection evidence systems supporting EDM (Europeana data model) or DCMI (Dublin Core Metadata Initiative) formats.
A solution for a group interaction of visitors, for educational purposes, is available on request. The visitors' mobile devices can be connected to the exhibition booth.
